They spoke to the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, and requested him to argue in favour of their man, saying: ﾓIf you do not do so, our man will be doomed and exposed and the Jew will come out of this as an innocent manﾔ The owners of the armour said: ﾓNo indeed, by Allah he entered our house and took it

تفسير قوله تعالى: (إن الله لا يغفر أن يشرك به ويغفر ما دون ذلك لمن يشاء ومن يشرك بالله فقد افترى إثما عظيما)

means, he will have taken other than the true path, deviated from guidance and righteousness, destroyed himself in this life and the Hereafter, and lost contentment in this life and the Hereafter.

Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed
آیه 48 سوره نساء
Verily, Allah forgives not the sin of setting up partners in worship with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that, before Ayah 48 and mentioned the relevant Hadiths in the beginning of this Surah
